Michael McKelvy has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas Tech School of Law. He earned his Master of Education degree at Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. Michael has completed his Texas Principal Certification and Superintendent Certification through Lubbock Christian University as well.
Michael has a unique background as an attorney, business owner, teacher, and administrator. Michael is able to bring his expertise and experience as an attorney to organizations in crisis or those looking to take the next step in innovation and growth. Michael’s experience as a business owner enhances his understanding of workforce issues. As an educator and administrator, he understands the complexities of K-12 education and career development.
- Michael is an assistant principal at Westlake High School in Eanes ISD in Austin, Texas.
- Previously he worked as an assistant principal at Frenship High School in Wolfforth, TX. He has taught mathematics and science at St. Gabriel’s Catholic School in Austin and Frenship High School. He has coached football and basketball at St. Michael’s and St. Gabriel’s.
- Before entering education, Michael worked as an attorney in the Austin area for over 10 years.
- He is currently serving as a member of the Texas Study of Secondary Education Committee through 2015.
